Saneri is a susbidiary of the CEF (Pty) Ltd group of companies. CEFF (Pty) Ltd is a state-owned company involved in the search for appropriate energy solutions to meet the future energy needs of South Africa, the Southern African Development Community and the sub-Saharan African region, including oil, gas, electrical power, solar energy, low-smoke fuels, biomass, wind and renewable energy sources. CEF also manages the operation and development of the oil and gas assets and operations of the South African government.

Including Saneri, the CEF group comprises of 8 subsidiaries and divisions.

International Energy Agency - www.iea.org

The International Energy Agency (IEA) acts as energy policy advisor to 26 Member countries in their effort to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for their citizens. Founded during the oil crisis of 1973-74, the IEA’s initial role was to co-ordinate measures in times of oil supply emergencies. As energy markets have changed, so has the IEA. Its mandate has broadened to incorporate the “Three E’s” of balanced energy policy making: energy security, economic development and environmental protection. Current work focuses on climate change policies, market reform, energy technology collaboration and outreach to the rest of the world, especially major producers and consumers of energy like China, India, Russia and the OPEC countries.

The IEA is a key strategic partner for Saneri and we plan to be South Africa’s implementing agency on the IEA’s Implementing Agreements.

Paraffin Safety Association of South Africa - www.pasasa.org/pasasa

The (PASASA) is a joint social responsibility intitiative of the pretroleum companies BP, Caltex, Engen, Sasol, Shell and Total that aims to address negative consequences of domestic paraffin use, including burn injuries, township fires and the inhalation of toxic fumes. It set itself the goal of halving the number of paraffin related incidents by 2009.

Accelerate your energy research with literature from the ETDEWEB

The Energy Technology Data Exchange World Energy Base (ETDEWEB) is a compilation of about 4 million energy R&D publications, including published and grey literature from different countries. SANERI’s agreement with the ETDE allows the South African based community to access the database ‘free of charge’. ETDE is a programme of the International Energy Agency (IEA).

International Conference on Coal Science and Technology www.iccst.info . This Conference will enhance local efforts to build capacity in South Africa in the coal sector. In particular, emphasis is being placed on the involvement of students from final year graduate studies as well as post graduate studies in the field of science and engineering. SANERI is supporting the attendance of students to the Conference.
